Don’t let having a small following on Instagram discourage you; you can still get noticed by brands. The key to being seen by brands is having the right foundation. Instagram is becoming more and more the go-to place in finding bloggers, content creators, and influencers. In this blog post, I will give you a few tips that help you get noticed by brands.
Create a New Instagram Page
One thing I did when I decided to become a blogger was I created a new Instagram page. I wanted my Instagram feed to show that I was serious about being a blogger. You don’t want a brand to see old photos of you and not take you seriously. Plus, you don’t want to force your already developed audience to follow you on your new journey if they don’t genuinely don’t want too.
High-Quality Content Matters
Most brands and brand agencies will find you by way of Instagram. Because Instagram is a visual platform, your feed should show who you are as a brand. Your Instagram feed should be of high quality regardless of what your niche is. If you are having a hard time creating high quality photos you should definitely check out my blog post: 3 Amazing Tips On Taking Photos Using Your iPhone. One factor to remember is that you should show diversity in your images. For example, I am a natural hair, beauty, and lifestyle blogger. My Instagram represents who I am as a blogger. A brand should not have to guess who you are.
“If you have multiple niches, make sure you are showing a balance between them. Showing to much of one niche won’t show a brand who you truly are.
Engagement
So many influencers think that growing your following first will get you noticed by brands. This is not necessarily the case. Although growing your following is important it shouldn’t necessarily be the main focus. When you shift your focus from followers to engagement a brand will see how well you engage with your already build audience. Focus on engaging with the followers you already have instead of trying to gain new followers. Trust me, if you are creating quality content the followers will come.
Aesthetic
Having a feed that is pleasing to the eye is important. That’s why it is a must that you have quality photos. Choose an aesthetic that represents you. For instance, if you are a bright and airy person make sure that your photos show that. Your instagram feed should show a seamless story. Always put thought into what you post. Never post randomly. What this means is, never post for the sake of posting. Brands can tell if you put thought into your own brand, If you’re not willing to put the work into your brand what makes you think a brand will be willing to work with you.
Tag Brands In Your Content
This is so important. If you have created bomb content for a brand make sure you tag them! Tagging a brand that you want to grab the attention of not only helps you but it invites the brand to take a peek at your feed. If a brand likes what they see on your feed they will more than likely hit the follow button. Word of advice, don’t go spamming the brand. Make sure you are sincere and honest when you tag them so that you stay true to your audience and to yourself.
