What exactly is repurposing content? Repurposing your content is when you take one piece of content and serve it on multiple platforms. You can repurpose just about anything. Blog posts, videos, podcasts, etc.- like I said- about anything! Repurposing content allows you to use the same content in several different ways. Let’s dive into how you can repurpose your blog content in 7 ways.
What Is The Purpose Of Repurposing Your Content?
Because creating content takes time, it’s essential to get the most out of all your content. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. Repurposing your content allows you to reach more people in different ways. The audience that enjoys reading blog posts may not necessarily enjoy watching videos, and the same goes for those who enjoy listening to audio and may not enjoy reading a blog post. See where I am going with this?
#1 Blog Post
Let’s start with the topic of conversation, a blog post. When you write a post for your blog, you’re providing your audience with valuable content that will forever live on the internet. Creating a post for your blog gives those who enjoy reading a chance to know who you are, and who knows, they may join your email list.
#2 Freebie
Why not turn it into a freebie if you’ve created a very detailed blog post? Offering a free downloadable pdf is a great way to get more people on your email list. By taking one of your blog posts and turning it into a free download, you’re repurposing your content and grabbing the attention of new subscribers.
#3 Newsletter
I know I mentioned offering a freebie to get new subscribers on your email list, but what about the ones you currently have? Let’s face it, not every subscriber on your email list will now read every blog post you have written. Sending your subbies a summary, including a few high-quality photos that can be linked to your blog post, is a great way to keep them in tune with your current situation.
#4 Social Media Platforms
Social media is one of the many ways that I have repurposed my blog posts. Let’s take Instagram, for example; I have taken vital points from a specific blog post, created a shareable graphic and a captivating caption, and boom, I had a great post. You can use Facebook, Pinterest, and even Twitter to repurpose your content, and just be sure you know how each platform performs for you.
#5 E-Book
You’ve heard of a free download, but did you know you can take a series of blog posts and create an e-book? Yes! Not only can you offer an e-book for free, but you can also sell it. This is a great way to monetize your blog. When you take a series of blog posts that give tips and step-by-step guides on a specific topic, you create a knowledgeable learning tool for someone who may not have the time to research on their own.
#6 Podcast
If you have a podcast, then repurposing a blog post and sharing it through audio is a great way to get those who may not have time to sit down and read your blog post. If you do not have a podcast, you can still transform your blog post by going live on Facebook or Instagram to capture more people.
#7 Webinar
By creating a webinar session, you can collect a larger scale of people at one time. You could offer a live webinar or pre-record one that you can share with your email subscribers or even provide it to get more people on your email list.
As you may have guessed, it is easy to repurpose your content. Since you’ve already done the hard work of creating your content once, why not make the most of it? Think of repurposing content as a way to work smarter, not harder.
Until the next time, friends!
