Desoto County is just a few miles south of Memphis, TN, and is the third most popular county’s in Mississippi. Not only is Desoto County a fantastic place to live, but it’s one of the most visited places in the South. Since living in Desoto County, I have witnessed its massive growth over the last 16 years. There are so many fantastic and fun things that couples can do within a matter of minutes or, should I say, miles of one another. A huge thanks to Visit Desoto County for allowing my husband and me to check out a few hidden gems one beautiful Saturday afternoon. Enough of the small talk; let’s dive into it!
1. Enjoy A Scenic Ride Through Desoto County
It doesn’t take much to make you happy if you’re anything like me. While heading to our first destination, my husband and I left home earlier to do a little sightseeing through the towns of Desoto county. Sometimes all it takes is a nice ride to clear your mind. If you’re new to the Desoto County area or visiting family, fill your gas tank and explore! You will see all the latest developments, small antique stores, and a host of shopping areas throughout the towns. I love riding through the newly built neighborhoods because it makes some of the best conversations with my husband.
d. Not only is this outing free, but you have the opportunity to spend some alone time with your significant other.
#2 Visit The Arts In The Alley
Our first stop was The Arts In The Alley. Although I’ve lived in Olive Branch forever, I had no idea that the Arts In The Alley even existed! The Arts In The Alley is located in the downtown area of Olive Branch and is free to visit. Walking through the alley and seeing all the various paintings of local artists and their work was breathtaking.
#3 Visit City Hall Cheesecake in Desoto County
My husband is a cheesecake lover, so he was ecstatic when I told him where we were going for our next stop! City Hall Cheesecake has two locations in Desoto County- one in Hernando and another in Southaven. We had the pleasure of visiting the Southaven location, which is located in the new upcoming Silo Square. Like I said earlier, Desoto County has a lot to offer, and this gem is perfect for couples. We shared a slice of their lemon drop cheesecake as well as their banana pudding cheesecake.
#4 Dine At The Parish Oyster Bar Restaurant
After finishing our dessert, we headed to The Parish Oyster Bar Restaurant in Hernando. Since both my husband and I are seafood lovers, we were excited to visit. Couples can enjoy a pleasant outing here. This hidden spot has been opened only for a short time, but you wouldn’t know since the restaurant was filled with customers. I will add that The Parish doesn’t have a full bar yet, but they do offer beer. To make up for not having a full bar, the owner allows you to bring your wine and liquor!
I can’t wait to share more things that couples can do in Desoto County!
Until the next time, my friends!
