Why Every Blogger Should Have a Blogging Tribe

Sharing is caring!

When I first started blogging, I had no direction. I knew I wanted to be successful at it, but no one in my circle was blogging. In other words, I didn’t have a blogging tribe (friends).

I searched Instagram and notice that every blogger in my local area had their own tribe. I thought to myself that maybe I should try and squeeze myself into their circle. Instead of trying to fit in, I knew that in reality, it would be best for me to find MY tribe. In this blog post, I am going to share with you why every blogger should have a blogging tribe.

What Is A Blogging Tribe

You can define a blogging tribe in different ways, but it’s a group of like-minded people with the same interest as you. Not saying that you have to have the same niches, but you should be a part of a tribe, you can share your ideas and vice versa.

Why You Need One

Blogging can be time-consuming, but very worth it, especially if you want to turn it into your full-time job. Whatever your reason is for starting your blog, make sure that your goal and mission is to help others through your niches. Helping others is so rewarding. I knew one thing when I started blogging; I was beginning this new adventure alone. None of my core friends were bloggers, so I had to rely on google and my thoughts.

I discovered other bloggers through enrolling in a few courses like Level Up Your Blog by Jenell B Stewart. I got a chance to meet and engage with other inspiring bloggers. What started as a learning tool evolved in developing my blogging tribe.

What A Blogging Tribe Should Look Like

Let’s take a look at my blog, for example. I am a natural hair, beauty, lifestyle, and travel blogger. My tribe consists of others with those same niches and more. One of my closest blogging friends is Meaghan Lindsey. We have similar niches but her blog consists of mommy content as well. If you have small children that are girls, you should check her out.
Since my blog has travel content, it was important to find other travel bloggers that I could connect with also.

Accountability

Your blogging tribe should help you stay on task. Now you shouldn’t expect them to hold your hand every step of the way, but they should help keep you accountable for the goals that you have set. In return, you offer them the same service.

What A Blogging Tribe Is Not

Since having a blogging tribe is like a friendship, you should treat them as such. In your everyday friendships, you wouldn’t take from your friends continuously, would you? It’s a give and take relationship. The purpose of a blogging tribe is to have a forum where you can express your thoughts and provide meaningful advice to each other.

How Do You Find Your Blogging Tribe

I am a very forward person so when I find someone that I connect with socially; I don’t mind reaching out to them. Once, reached out to another content creator because I wanted to know more about becoming a natural hair brand ambassador. Since that time, we have formed a great blogging relationship. There are Facebook groups that you could join and meet other bloggers. No matter how you decide to approach other bloggers, just be sure to do so in an orderly fashion.

Do you have a blogging tribe? If so, share in the comments how you connected with them.

Until the next time my fabulous friends!

Absolutely loved this post! I agree with everything stated! Before I met like-minded blogger friends, I would discuss things with my non-blogger friends and they just didn’t get it! I’m so happy I’ve found such a motivating and fabulous blogger tribe!! Thanks so much for mentioning me in this post!! It means a lot!!!
